North Shore Oahu Surf Conditions – October 14, 2026 We have some good-sized surf on Oahu’s North Shore today as a northwest swell continues to bring waves to our exposed beaches and reefs. NOAA is forecasting 7–10-foot faces this morning, easing into the 6–8-foot range by the afternoon. With east trade winds around 10–15 mph, many of the North Shore’s better-oriented breaks should have favorable wind conditions. The swell still has plenty of energy, so experienced surfers should find some opportunities, while beginners will need more protected conditions. Today’s Tides – Haleiwa Morning high: 5:21 AM – 1.6 ft Midday low: 11:42 AM – 0.5 ft Afternoon high: 4:27 PM – 0.6 ft Evening low: 9:01 PM – 0.2 ft The dropping morning tide may change how waves break across the shallower reefs. Conditions can vary quite a bit between surf spots, especially when a northwest swell is running. Weather and Wind We’re looking at another warm October day on the North Shore, with mostly sunny skies, temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s, and a chance of passing showers. East trade winds should provide favorable offshore conditions at many breaks. Surf Lessons on the North Shore With the swell running this size, some of the exposed North Shore surf breaks are better suited for experienced surfers. At North Shore Beach Boyz Surf School, we pay close attention to the changing ocean conditions and choose lesson locations based on the swell, wind, and each student’s experience level. Finding an appropriate, more protected location is especially important for first-time surfers, families, and younger children. If you’re visiting Oahu and interested in learning to surf, our local instructors can help determine whether conditions are suitable for your lesson. Looking Ahead to Thursday The northwest swell is expected to ease, with north-facing surf forecast around 5–7 feet Thursday morning and 4–6 feet during the afternoon. East trade winds are expected to strengthen to around 15–20 mph. Today’s Local Surf Tip From our North Shore Beach Boyz instructors: It looks like winter is finally here, and the larger swells have arrived. Beginners have no fear. We always will be able to find a user-friendly spot just about no matter how big the waves are. We always will put you in an area where waves are user-friendly, and usually around the waist to chest height for most adults....

North Shore Oahu Surf Report – Sunday, October 11, 2026 Good morning from the North Shore of Oahu! We’re seeing another nice fall morning here in Hawaii, with the northwest swell gradually backing down, light trade winds, and plenty of sunshine expected throughout the day. For those planning to surf around Haleiwa, Waialua, and the surrounding North Shore beaches, today’s conditions should offer a mix of waves for different skill levels, depending on the location. Today’s North Shore Surf Conditions North-facing shores: 4–6 feet this morning, easing to 3–5 feet this afternoon West-facing shores: 3–5 feet Wind: Easterly around 10 mph Weather: Mostly sunny with isolated showers, temperatures in the mid-80s Haleiwa low tide: 8:52 AM Haleiwa high tide: 3:02 PM Surf heights are forecast wave-face heights. Actual conditions vary between surf breaks. Haleiwa and North Shore Surf Outlook The northwest swell that has been bringing waves to Oahu’s North Shore is slowly fading, but there’s still some energy in the water. Exposed north-facing breaks will continue picking up the most swell, while more protected locations may offer smaller, manageable waves. With relatively light easterly winds, some locations could see cleaner conditions during the morning hours before local winds and sea breezes begin affecting the surface. Haleiwa and the surrounding North Shore coastline offer a variety of surf breaks, but it’s important to remember that wave size and ocean conditions can change considerably from one beach to another. Are Conditions Good for Beginner Surf Lessons Today? For beginners looking to learn to surf on Oahu’s North Shore, choosing the right beach is just as important as choosing the right day. Although the overall swell is declining, some exposed reef breaks will still have more power than beginners should be dealing with. More protected areas may offer smaller waves suitable for learning, provided the local conditions are safe. At North Shore Beach Boyz Surf School, we don’t rely on one permanent lesson location. Our experienced local instructors evaluate the surf and select locations with suitable conditions for each lesson....
