North Shore Oahu Surf Report – October 8, 2026
Haleiwa • North Shore • Oahu
Aloha surfers! Got some fun-sized swell running through the North Shore today, but the weather is something to keep an eye on.
Surf: North-facing shores are forecast around 5–7 feet this morning, dropping slightly to 4–6 feet this afternoon. The north-northwest swell is giving exposed breaks some decent waves, with occasional bigger sets at the reefs.
Wind: Generally light southerly winds early, with some changes possible as the day goes on. Early conditions may offer cleaner surf at certain breaks.
Weather: Cloudy skies with periods of rain and a chance of thunderstorms. Heavy showers are possible, so make sure you’re checking the sky and current conditions before getting in.
Haleiwa tides:
- Low: 6:21 AM
- High: 1:28 PM
- Low: 6:43 PM
Surf outlook: Some good opportunities for experienced surfers today, especially where the wind stays favorable. For beginners, the open North Shore is showing more surf than we’d typically want for a first lesson. A protected learning location may be a better option, depending on conditions.
Local Surf Tip: [Add Kalani’s or your instructor’s observation for today.]
At North Shore Beach Boyz Surf School, our local instructors check the ocean conditions and choose suitable learning locations based on the day’s surf. Safety, good instruction, and having fun are always our priorities.
