North Shore Oahu Surf Report – Tuesday, October 13, 2026
Northwest Swell Building | East Trade Winds | Mostly Sunny Skies
A fresh northwest swell is moving into Oahu’s North Shore today, bringing a noticeable increase in wave size as the day goes on.
We’re looking at surf around 5–7 feet along exposed north-facing shores this morning, building to 6–8 feet by the afternoon. West-facing shores should see around 3–5 feet early, increasing to 4–6 feet later in the day.
With the longer-period northwest swell filling in, conditions could change quite a bit between the morning and afternoon sessions. Some of the more exposed breaks around Haleiwa, Sunset Beach, and the rest of the North Shore will be picking up additional energy.
Wind and Weather
East trade winds are expected around 10–15 mph today, with mostly sunny skies and a few passing showers. Temperatures should reach the mid-80s.
Depending on which direction the beach faces, the easterly winds could help keep certain breaks relatively clean while creating more texture at others.
North Shore Tides – Haleiwa
- Early high tide: 4:40 AM – 1.7 ft
- Morning low tide: 10:37 AM – 0.4 ft
- Afternoon high tide: 3:59 PM – 0.7 ft
- Evening low tide: 8:35 PM – 0.1 ft
The dropping morning tide, combined with the incoming northwest swell, is something to keep an eye on, especially around the shallower reef breaks Lanis and small back door. Should be fun this morning with spots like Rocky point and V Land later in the day with the west kicking in.
